Dear Watson,

I’m glad to know that you are interested in Chinese traditional festivals. I’d like to introduce the Mid-autumn Festival to you.

The Mid-autumn Festival, a precious cultural heritage, is celebrated on August 15 of the lunar calendar. It is a good time to express the yearning for the hometown and relatives, and pray for harvest and happiness. Admiring the full moon is a famous custom. The bright moon is the symbol of the Mid-autumn Festival, where Chang’e and jade rabbit live according to ancient Chinese mythology. When it comes to food, there is a typical one named mooncake, inclusive of various kinds of fillings. It symbolizes reunion. In some places, people will admire osmanthus and drink osmanthus wine on this day.

I want to know of some special and important festivals in your country. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
